Dear Balitaan,

It is with heavy heart to report to you that one of our co-workers and an old ailing "Tiger", Mr. Delfin Francisco passed away yesterday [20 Oct] at the age of 81 here in San Diego, California. I received the sad news today from his daughter Dr. Ma. Socorro "Baby" Francisco.

I will keep the group posted for the services and funeral schedules pending for the arrival of Jojo and Percival Francisco.

To All,

I would like to share a couple of pictures taken with Mr Delfin Francisco and his wife, the last time Manong Dilan and I paid a visit on his home in San Diego, Ca. on August 2009.

As of today, Thursday [22 Oct] no words yet heard from the family of Mr Francisco regarding the schedule of services. However, I would like to thank everyone for sending comforting words to the Francisco family via email; which I plan to compile/print and include in the card and flowers I will personally hand to the family in behalf of the Balitaan group. I am expecting the viewing services will start this weekend. Until then, I am still  collecting new messages to be included in the card.

Dave,

Hi!!! I just don't know if he is my father...maybe just a coincidence that my real father also died somewhere along these dates...and he is also based in CA...we just got the news from his wife just this year and i'm just anxious to see what he looks like...because I don't even have a single memory of his...its just sad to hear that he died already...i know he is a good person..

Sincerely,

DElfin C. Francisco III

Hi Delfin III,

Thanks for commenting.

Our Mang Delfin is originally from Cavite and lived in Olongapo City before migrating to San Diego.

I, too didn't recognise him when I saw those pitures of him. He was my supervisor at Shop 67 at SRF Subic. A jolly fellow who makes a lot of kuwento while on the job, but made sure you finishes your job at the end of your shift.

Delfin Jr aka Jojo is also a batchmate at the apprentice school.

Regards,
